“Life is not a bed
or roses” as we all have heard this several times but the journey becomes toughest
one when ones fight starts with the self. Not only the society and the outer world
rather each and every activity of our lives leave powerful impacts in our
thought process and sometime some of those leave negative impacts too, this is
life and this is how the flow is continuing, sometime it becomes really tough
to overcome those negative impacts, those not only make us perplexed rather
sometime misleading also, so naturally the most important part of our lives
should be an introspective views towards life, properly analyzed activities,
decision making power, ability to distinguish the difference between the right
and the wrong views and to lead a life identifying own abilities and the
drawbacks with the change of time and phase of life and this book will help you
to polish your thought process and to make necessary changes so the outcome becomes
a happier one.
My
Views:
“Know Thyself” is
one of the powerful mantras of life, though it originates from philosophy and
contains deeper spiritual views but yet in this mundane world applying the mantra
can help you to better understand the life and its flow.
As lots of my research
articles have been published in many national and International journals of
psychology I really enjoyed reading this book, what I have noticed in the human
characteristics is most of the human being are suffering from lots of mental problems
in life and the first and foremost reason for it is their not “so clear idea”
about themselves and the book starts with the chapter where author has given it
first priority so that it helps the readers to progress gradually with a strong
base. Where in the book the author has discussed the issues we should first
take care of ourselves, specially our mental activities on the other hand she
has discussed how to handle the negative vibes form the outer world.
The major portion of
the book has been focused on “self” issues which I have found much necessary,
without knowing ourselves properly how can we make such a long journey of our
lives? “Realization” is one of the most vital issues of our lives and it should
start with “ourselves”, if the individual human being become capable enough to
find out the loopholes and the positive sides of their thought process so
naturally they will be able to remove those loopholes and thus it will result
to have a happier life with insightful views helping to concentrate in making
the positive ones more condensed.
In some of the
chapters the author has shared her personal experience which will not only help
the readers to connect with the author more deeply rather a real life experience
will help to generate some thought process towards life.
Mental illness is
nothing an uncommon issue of this present era where the phrases “competitive world”
and the “first moving era” always chasing the people, sometime we take “stress”
very lightly but the “stress” also can result an unexpected major problem in
later life, like this there are several more which can be torturing in the future,
focusing on these lightly taken issues the author has tried her best to create
an awareness among the readers.
Cons:
Logically I have
not found any drawback in the book but so far my personal experience is concerned
in the field of psychology in that view point I would like to say that in some
chapters it should be better if the author would have explained more, those who
don’t have proper knowledge about psychology or those who are not mature enough
can find it to some extent tough to connect with the contents, otherwise in a
broader field and for the matured ones this book is excellent.
About
the author:
Priyankar Nair is presently
perusing her Doctorate in psychology, after working in many MNC’s for long
eight years. After overcoming depression during her illness days the impact was
positive one…she realized the mental problems of human beings observing how
some people are making surrender in the journey of life, how some are leading
life with proper aim and goal and some are fighting with themselves for not
having a way to direct their thought process, this book is the outcome of that
impact and also her observation power of human lifestyle.
She started her
journey as an open diary blogger and gradually she discovered about creating
mental health awareness and at presented she is very much focused in it which
resulted in getting featured in SHEROSE India and women with gift
International.
Concluding
Note:
To have a life with
satisfaction, having a good focus and to realize the life more deeply and to identity
if you are suffering from any mental problem this book will surely help you a
lot helping to grow an insightful view to your own life and the surroundings.
